Used Car Prices Keep Climbing

Posted in Automobiles on June 6, 2012 by RickNews

The world may be in the middle of a Great Recession, but that hasn’t stopped vintage Ferrari prices from needling the stratosphere.

Recently, American Craig McCaw (who sold his telecommunications company for $11.5 billion back in ’93) bought a 50 year-old 250GTO for $35,000,000.00.

Painted “apple-green,” this one-time racer currently holds the price record for a vintage car (in a disclosed, “public” sale).

The color reminds me of my favorite sorbet.

Another One Bites The Dust

Posted in Automobiles on May 30, 2012 by RickNews

By now, we know that Lamborghinis and Ferraris are more about “show” than “go.” If they weren’t, they wouldn’t break down so much…or catch on fire as much.

Check out the post here.

Yessir, these are the automobiles created for the valet; for that prime parking spot in front of a nightclub or restaurant.

Which comes as no surprise that Ferrari’s latest, top-of-the-line supercar, the wagon called FF, is the latest Maranello machine to self-immolate.

This time, Ferrari’s finest chose a Polish highway to blaze-up. Check out the story here and look at that photo–things got so hot, the A-pillars melted.

Real Men (and Women) Shift It Themselves

For those of you who like to trod around in your automatic-transmission S.U.V. or minivan, here’s how real drivers get from point “A” to point “fun.”

We shift our own gears…

Because driving is more than sipping a fruity frappe while gabbing on the phone in your truck.

Lamborghinis: Klassy Kars, Klassy Drivers

Posted in Automobiles on May 15, 2012 by RickNews

We all know that Lamborghini drivers are at the pinnacle of posing in the automotive world.

The Lamborghini marque, as a whole, has never been successful in racing, unlike its “competitor” in the marketplace, Ferrari, who backs-up their machines with a racing pedigree that’s unmatched. While sleek Lambos may look fast while parked, we also know that their “natural habitat” is aboard a flatbed or at the side of the road, in ashes.

The below video comes as no surprise, then, as we witness the prowess of a yellow Gallardo’s helmsman.

Let’s Destroy The Great Wall of China…

…In a Ferrari!

Ferrari’s latest model comes with a screaming dragon on it. Klassy!

That seems to be the idea that Ferrari P.R. people had recently when they let loose one of their supercars on the Great Wall of China.

Before that sentence even sinks in, here’s another: They burned rubber on the legendary structure, too!

Check out the story here.

This Is Better Than Watching NASCAR

Two intrepid souls recently followed a drunk driver and recorded his/her every move on video.

From what it sounds like, the pair phoned police to report the lawbreaker and then proceeded to document his/her rambling drive.

There are several exciting moments in this vid and all in all, it’s more thrilling than most races I’ve seen lately.

Enjoy!

Burn, Baby, Burn!

Posted in Automobiles on April 16, 2012 by RickNews

We know how reliable and high-quality Lamborghinis are, especially their top-of-the line Aventador.

At around $400,000, this supercar really burns up the roads.

See:

This Italian stallion was supposedly on a test drive with a prospective owner while it caught on fire. Luckily, nobody was hurt and Lamborghini’s reputation as a “fire-breather” was left intact.

Presenting The New Ferrari F12 Uterus

Posted in Automobiles on March 13, 2012 by RickNews

The styling of Ferraris, for the past 10 years, has been hit or miss. There have been hits, such as the lithe 458 and misses, such as the lumpy 612 Scaglietti and the brand-new 2013 F12Berlinetta (all one word).

In fact, one blogger claims the new F12Berlinetta was inspired by an unseen female body part.
