Put the Bound Babe in the Truck’s Bed

Posted in Automobiles, General Interest on September 12, 2013 by RickNews

An advertising company in Texas decided to plaster a photograph of a bound woman on the back of their pickup trucks recently. Some folks are upset, yet if they slapped a pic of a bound dude on the back of a Raptor, would anyone complain? A bound Mexican? Either way, it’s funny and creative, so lighten up, Francis…

0 to 60 mph in 15.3 Seconds!

Posted in Automobiles on September 9, 2013 by RickNews

Uncle’s playin’ with the boot.

In 1970, AMC boasted that its new Gremlin sped to 60 mph in a fleet 15.3 seconds. For comparison, a Toyota Sienna minivan does it in half that time, carries more people, hauls more cargo, and gets better fuel economy. Also, the Sienna looks like a Ferrari compared to the Gremlin.

Here’s a $500,000 Nissan Hatchback

Posted in Automobiles on October 18, 2012 by RickNews

Nissan’s Juke is one of the most unique and entertaining vehicles on the road. It can be had with a sprightly, 188-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder and this zesty powerplant jibes perfectly with the Juke’s sassy styling. Its four doors and hatchback also make for around-town practicality.

All this for a tad over a half-million bucks.

Then there are people for whom the above just isn’t enough. These people also have bottomless bank accounts. Nissan has just delivered the first example of their new Juke R. We all know Nissan make the best supercar on earth–the sub-three-seconds to 60 mph GT-R–and they’ve taken the twin-turbo, V6 engine from that beast and stuffed it into the little Juke. Nissan’s crazy engineers also transplanted upgraded brakes and they’ve massaged the body for more efficient aerodynamics.

As a result, 60 mph comes up in under three seconds (a la the GT-R) with a top speed of 170 mph. Making 545 horsepower, the Juke R’s most impressive number is the price: about $521,000.

Lee Trevino’s Sled

Posted in Automobiles on August 31, 2012 by RickNews

Hey, if the ’73 Dodge Monaco was good enough for golfer Lee Trevino, surely it was good enough for the likes of you.

With a front end that looked like it ate pedestrians for breakfast and maimed ’em for lunch, this Dodge even had an Electronic Ignition System that would start the car in all types of, um, weather.

Chevy may have had the Monte Carlo, but Dodge had the Monaco. It’s the entire principality, right?

World’s Fastest Car Gets Pulled Over By A Bicycle Cop

Posted in Automobiles on August 8, 2012 by RickNews

Here’s one of the weirdest videos in a long time. In it, the world’s fastest car, a Bugatti Veyron 16.4, driven by a dude wearing a turban, gets pulled over by a bike cop in London, England.

The car, capable of over 250 mph seems as out of place in a crowded city as, well, a dude in a turban behind the wheel of a sportscar.

Enjoy!

Who says rappers aren’t appropriate role models for children?
